Kinesiology Tape

Riding day after day often causes the body to ache and for some women motorcycle riders, this can also be the case after just a few hours into a ride. Motorcyclists often complain of stiff joints such as wrist, elbow, and knees. The lower back and even the buttocks area can also be achy and sore! We favour the KT Tape as the ideal solution for reducing muscle pain, increases your mobility and enhances physical performance.

What is it?

It’s a strong, athletic tape used for hundreds of common injuries such as lower back pain, knee pain, shin splints, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tennis elbow, just to name a few. It’s applied along muscles, ligaments, and tendons (soft tissue), is lightweight and comfortable to wear. Just tear cut a strip and apply it to the injured or achy area. KT Tape provides relief and support for muscles and joints and can be used to prevent or treat hundreds of sports injuries.

Not just because it’s durable, easy to apply but it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals or medications which could interfere with your ride performance*. It also provides 24 hour relief per application for days at a time through sweat, strain and humidity, and can even be worn in water thanks to its designed adhesive. And we find the bright colours are fun!

Plus:

  • Can be worn for up to 5 days at a time
  • Does not contain harmful chemicals or medications
  • Water resistant
  • Latex free

There are two types of KT TAPE:

  • Original: made up of reinforced 100% cotton sheathes or
  • Synthetic (PRO): engineered, ultra-durable synthetic fabric designed to provide durability and increased strength.

Both materials provide uni-directional elasticity allowing the tape to stretch in length but preventing the tape from stretching in width. These fibers are made to provide stable support without restricting motion.

Just what a motorcyclist needs!

Go ahead–wear it on your feet inside your boots. When it comes to its adhesive, it’s designed it to last through showers, humidity and sweat.
And who knows, when in trouble it may just double in use like duct tape to repair the unexpected on your journey!

You’ll find KT Tape at your local druggist or department stores.

My physiotherapist just taped me up it feels awesome. However I would love videos of how to apply it because I can’t exactly see where she put it.
