Mad Bastard Scooter Rally 2017 London Canada

Last Update: 28 October 2021

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally 2017

The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally (MBSR) is a unique event that takes riders on an adventure through an over +500km journey that has to be completed within 24 hours – on motorcycle scooters – preferably 50cc. MOTORESS has joined in since 2007 and is a partnered sponsor again for 2017. We will be representing the madness again riding with our partners on a KYMCO sponsored scooter!

The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally is an 600 km (or so) motorcycle scooter ride through some great Canadian scenery in the province of Ontario all the while collecting as many “mad” points that you can along the way. The winner gets a brand new KYMCO scooter!

Presented by KYMCO Canada, the MBSR is not easy but the fun fuels all the over 100 participants. The route is provided the night before and hosts mandatory stops, roadside clues, and challenges. The emphasis is on the fun and crazy factor – it’s a rally, not a race. It’s a motorcycle scooter challenge about strategy, time management, and creativity!

More about the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Route

As is the case in earlier rallies, the main route will be about 600km. There will likely be an extra bonus route/challenge for the strong at heart. This is the case each year.

Scooters of Different Sizes and Classes

In order to keep the rally open to all motorcycle scooters, but also keep a level playing field, the organizers at the Mad Bastard Scooter Rallyhave a series of classes organized by engine capacity.  The smaller the motorcycle scooter, the longer the allotted time to complete the course, and more mad points you’ll achieve. But then, it is a lot harder!  And note, that engine “CC” is defined as to what is printed on your registration papers unless you’ve modified your engine and must inform or risk disqualification.

Here Are The MBSR Competition Classes:

  • Straitjacket Class (24 hours) – All scooters and mopeds up to 50cc in capacity
  • Heavily Medicated (20 hours) – All scooters greater than 50cc but no greater than 110cc
  • Therapy Required (18 hours) – Scooters greater than 110cc but no greater than 200cc
  • Day Release (16 hours) – Scooters greater than 200cc

How to Collect Mad Points

The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally is not just about completing the route within your allotted class time.  If you want to have a good crack at winning the main prize, then you’re going to have to collect as many “mad” points as you can.   There are different categories for the mad points including:

  • Madness of rider costume.
  • Age or uniqueness of his/her scooter.
  • Various acts of madness, both set by the organizer and created by the riders.

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Grand Prize

The Maddest Bastard participant will win a brand new scooter from KYMCO, The model will be announced shortly.

Pre-Rally Tailgate Party

There will be a designated outdoor rider area to hang out, check out everyone’s motorcycle scooter, reconnect with old friends, and meet some new ones. More details will be updated soon on the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally website.

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Charity Support

Participants of the MBSR are requested to collect pledges before the rally weekend for the chosen charity, Big Brothers and Sisters of London Ontario.  As in years before, there will be a token amount of Mad Points offered to participants who raise CAD200.00 or more.  The participant who raises the most funds also receives a prize from one of the MBSR sponsors Quality Jewellers.

So, get your Mad on and join in the fun.
