With such a large number of women motorcycle and scooter riders in the San Francisco Bay Area motorcycling community it’s no surprise that many well-known women in motorcycling plan to attend San Francisco’s International Female Ride Day party. The event is happening on Friday, May 4th from 4-7 pm at Moto Shop, 325 South Maple Ave, #20 in South San Francisco. Women from all over the San Francisco Bay Area are welcome to join in, no matter what they ride! (Guys, if riding in with a woman, are welcome, too!)
Well known women Bay Area motorcyclists attending the event include Jenny Lefferts of MAD Maps, land speed racer Erin Hunter of sheEmoto, Joanne Donn of GearChic, Birjit Soyka of To Drink the Wild Air, Carla King of Motorcycle Misadventures and, of course Aleks Grippo, co-owner of Moto Shop, the hosting location.
Northern California and local businesses are providing prizes with the grand prize of two tickets to Lake Tahoe Adventure Ride & Rendezvous event in August, which includes three nights lodging at the Lakeside Inn and Casino.
Come meet other women riders, show off your motorcycle, or find out how you might learn to ride. The event is organized by Joanne Donn, founder of GearChic, Aleks Grippo, co-owner of Moto Shop, and Carla King, author of the Motorcycle Misadventures series of books and online dispatches from the road.
JUST RIDE SAN FRANCISCO!
