Last Update: 10 February 2024
For the 12th version of International Female Ride Day (IFRD), women around the world submitted their photos of how they enjoyed the day. Everyone was invited to vote for their favourite photos to select the winning photo. Unfortunately with the massive high traffic to MOTORESS.com, as a result of the voting, photo submissions and all round GROWTH of IFRD, caused MOTORESS.com to crash. The voting closed early awarding the highest voted image, belonging to the Canadians from Ontario – as the winners in the group photo category. And this could not have been a better choice as these amazing women counted over 500 women riders out for the 12th edition of IFRD. (See image below, screen capture at the time of group contest closing).
The Ontario women segmented their ride into areas around the province of Ontario meeting up in the grandstand of baseball park for the grand finally photo! This photo submitted by Jackie McGowan who also submitted the 2016 winning photo.
A pair of Harley-Davidson authentic (gorgeous!) footwear is the prize!
The IFRD photo contest has played a special role over the years and even since IFRD started in 2007, women have taken great pride in sharing their photos of how they enjoyed the day. And women enjoy including a characteristic local flavour of their country, town or region – or even the type of roads or national treasures within their own riding regions. The photos have helped also bring full captured proof to the enormous life this extreme special and globally embraced ride day means for women in motorcycling.
Please enjoy all the photo submissions in the IFRD contest gallery soon to be online (we are still repairing the challenges caused by the crash). There are hundreds more photos posted within all social media outlets who were not entered into the contest.
Congratulations again Jackie and the women riders of Ontario Canada for all efforts in the photo contest and for ensuring Ontario’s women riders represented for the 12th edition of IFRD!
