It was the craziest fun on two wheels I’ve had in a long time! The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally an endurance scooter ride during the summer’s solstice weekend bringing mad scooterists out to ride and be crazy with like-minded. Kudos to Rob Harris of CMG for coming up with the idea and additionally gratitude to KYMCO Canada for their major role as sponsor and rally aid.
The event was truly a blast had by all. It was my first experience of such an event and I’m addicted; can’t wait for the next one. Costumes and themed scooters are a must. And well, there were some crazy things to see. Each entry is judged and awarded points. My theme was called the “Man Catcher”!
As you can see , I did manage to catch a few fellas and with surprisingly – little resistance. I think it was the red bra I used as bait! (Above pic)
What is a “Man Catcher” you ask? Well, after snaring men, they’re then put through training courses (hence the army garb they’re wearing) and when ready they’re released for the greater good of woman-kind. They’re taught how to efficiently cater to women’s needs from all levels. Taught the etiquette’s of domestic duties such as taking out the garbage, cleaning & repairing motorcycles, washing the car and so forth. You get the idea!
The entire theme of the rally is ‘madness’ plus the fun of a competition to get “mad points”. Well, I didn’t do too well, yet not too badly either. But because I decided to speed through the rally (the roads were so fine), I ended up flying by some valuable mad point opportunities. However, I was the second participant to arrive back to home plate. I was accompanied by Dean and Jason whom I need to thank for their great map reading/navigation. Which, by the way, is another feature of the “Man Catcher” training program!Ah well, it’s always about the ride for me, and this time, the added bonus of being surrounded along the way with such fun lovin’ crazies made it all so terrifically fun! I particularly enjoyed the antics of team “Zeppo”. Gentlemanly nutty madmen who all brought such fun to the rally.
You will notice however, that a few of my men went “AWOL”. And here below pictured is one trying to get away on one of team “Zeppo’s” scooters. And the Zeppo’s were assisting!
And yes, there’s always time for lipstick no matter how many scooters, nutcases, mad riders, or hours spent on a scooter! Oh if you think this blog post is MAD, just join in the next rally. Register if you’re crazy enough to do so.
