Congratulations To All!
Women riders the world over continue to demonstrate their involvement and support for International Female Ride Day and the 13th edition was nothing less than magnificent! I am so thrilled with the capture of motorcycling moments for this special happening, IFRD. And, here they are, the 2019 IFRD photo contest winners! It is always difficult to select the winners, as every photo is a fabulous capture of what IFRD is all about – women enjoying motorcycling! As I always say, each is a winner!
However, there must be three winners, and here they are:
IFRD Selfie – winning photo, “Mother and Daughter Ride for IFRD” by Lee H. of Texas, USA is a lovely capture of a bonding through motorcycling. Congratulations!
IFRD Photo winner for up to seven women, I could not resist giving to Jacolene van der Merwe, Gauteng South Africa titled “Releasing the balloons on IFRD!” The colours in her photo depicted such happiness and celebration. Congrats Jacolene!
IFRD Group winner goes to Kat H. from Dubai with her group shot – the Dubai desert in the background and a fun capture of fellow women riders from the UAE. Congrats!
Metal works artist Joyce Morgan (Joy’s Metalworks) has nearly completed the three very special award plaques which will be sent to each winner!
What started as a request to simply share what women did as they took to the roads to Just Ride 13 years ago, has become a truly fabulous component of IFRD. Though many don’t share their photos to the contest, the #internationalfemalerideday hashtag on all social media platforms has evidenced some really amazing happenings from this past 4 May – globally.
Contest winners will have their photos permanently published in the IFRD Fame Gallery to be enjoyed always.
Since 2007 International Female Ride Day has encouraged, represented and changed women in motorcycling bringing the joy of motorcycling ever closer to women. Helping to drive the growth of women riders throughout the world there are more than 120 countries participating.
Thank you to all the women who entered the contest and to all for sharing the very GREAT and remarkable moments of the 13th edition International Female Ride Day.
See you on 2 May, 2020 – JUST RIDE!
