Women and Motorcycling Femmewalla Track Day Event
Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Desert Center, California will be hosting the Femmewalla women’s motorcycle track day once again, Friday December 13, 2013 -and it’s revving up to be another huge success.
This event was created by track owner Aimee Grana in 2010. After the end of a SoCal Track Days event, Aimee asked the staff to stay a few minutes longer so she and two of her best girl friends could ride the track for themselves. Aimee enjoyed herself so much that she began to organize an annual track day for women only that would foster a safe and non-intimidating way for women to experience riding on a racetrack.
At the same time the event could help to raise funds for The Unforgettables Foundation in honor of Micky and Aimee Grana’s two-year old daughter, Jessica Hart, who passed away five years ago.
Last year’s event attracted nearly 60 lady riders and raised $10,000 for The Unforgettable Foundation, which helps with burial assistance to families who have lost a child. “When you have a child, you think about saving for their college education, not their burial”, stated Aimee in the rider’s meeting. She went on further to say, “I am grateful to have the ability to share a sport that I love so much with other women. I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome more women to this sport while at the same time honor my Unforgettable Jessie by supporting such an incredible cause” stated Aimee.
Femmewalla 2013 is poised to be another successful event and is bringing back many of its past year attractions, such as: two up rides from Star School’s Jason Pridmore, one-on-one video coaching from Dale Kieffer of Racer’s Edge Performance, suspension setup with Randy Acevedo of Inhouse Suspension, and photography services from CaliPhotography.
All proceeds from these services will go directly to the charity and the famous Femmewalla raffle is also back with many fantastic raffle prizes provided by the MOTORESS t-shirts and Beauty Gear, Dainese D-Store of Orange County, Motion Pro, Jason Pridmore’s Star School, Cali Photography, Freegun Underwear, Moonstone Wine Cellars, Torco, Leo Vince, and more.
