The 2017 Women’s Professional Motocross Championship (WMX) schedule has been re-designed to allow the world’s best women motocross racers an opportunity to compete at eight unique events throughout the six months.
Continuing tradition from years past, the 2017 WMX Championship will kick off along Daytona Beach’s “Bike Week” festivities on Monday, March 13 with the Eighth Annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross on the historic grounds of Daytona International Speedway.
Following the season opener, the Women’s Professional Motocross / WMX racers will headline two other premier amateur motocross events, the Freestone Spring Championship on Saturday, March 25, and the California Classic at Pala Raceway on Sunday, April 9.
For the first time, the Women’s Professional Motocross championship will take place during the AMSOIL Arenacross season finale held at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, May 5. Recognized as the largest race on the Arenacross circuit, the WMX competitors will be able to showcase their talents in front of a unique crowd and many of the industry’s top personnel.
Women’s Professional Motocross Championship to Conclude at Loretta Lynn Ranch
The next few rounds will take place in conjunction with the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. WMX racers will hit the track on Thursday, May 18 at the Hangtown Classic for their first moto, which will take place concurrently with the Pro Motocross media day. The fifth round will conclude with the second moto on Friday, May 19. The Women’s Professional Motocross Championship continues with the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series on Friday, June 3, at the Thunder Valley National, and then again on Friday, June 16 at the High Point National.
Finally, a WMX National Champion will be crowned Saturday, August 5 at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Held on the fifth and final day of racing at the 36th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Championship, the WMX division will race for the coveted championship in front of fans from across the world as they battle it out at the eighth and final round of the 2017 season.
Racers must meet the WMX Championship Eligibility and Criteria to hold a license in 2017 and all licensing must be completed before participating at an event. Please refer to the WMX Eligibility and Criteria before applying for a WMX license.
