Femmewalla Women’s Motorcycle Track Day Revs Up

Southern California’s biggest women’s track day event Femmewalla will take place once again in Desert Center on Friday December 11th 2015.

Femmewalla was originally envisioned by track owner Aimee Grana back in 2010 after closing the track at the end of a SoCal Track Days event when Aimee asked staff members to stay a few minutes more so that she two of her best girlfriends could enjoy some testosterone free track time to themselves. Aimee enjoyed herself so much that she began to organize an annual track day for women only that would foster a safe and non-intimidating way for women to experience riding on the racetrack. At the same time the event could help raise funds for the Unforgettable’s Foundation in honor of Micky and Aimee Grana’s two-year old daughter, Jessica Hart, who had passed away.

Good Cause for Femmewalla

The Unforgettable’s Foundation, helps with burial assistance to families who have lost a child. “When you have a child, you think about saving for their college education, not their burial” stated Aimee in the rider’s meeting. She went further to say, “I am grateful to have the ability to share a sport that I love so much with other women, I know how intimidating riding on the racetrack can be. I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome more women to this sport while at the same time honoring my Unforgettable Jessie by supporting such an incredible cause.”

Last year’s event attracted over 60 lady riders and raised $11,000 for Unforgettables Foundation, which helps with burial assistance to families who have lost a child. “I am grateful to have the ability to share a sport that I love so much with other women” says track owner Aimee Grana. “I know how intimidating riding on a racetrack can be and I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome more women to this sport while at the same time honor my Unforgettable Jessie by supporting such an incredible cause.”

What started out as a private, closed track session for three riders back in 2010 has expanded into a full track day event attracting female riders of all skill levels. In addition to ample track time and special guests such as MotoAmerica pro racer Melissa Paris, Femmewalla is bringing back it’s very popular track side services. Femmewalla attendees have access to top quality services such as expert instruction and two up rides from Star School’s Jason Pridmore, one-on-one video coaching from Dale Kieffer of Racer’s Edge Performance, suspension setup with Andy Palmer of AP MotoArts, and photography services from CaliPhotography. All proceeds from these services will go directly to The Unforgettables charity.
