Sadly the decision has been made to postpone the annual date of International Female Ride Day (IFRD) slotted for the first Saturday in May 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns. On a positive note International Female Ride Day Rescheduled to Saturday 22 August 2020 in the hopes we will have surpassed and overpowered the current pandemic.
While the decision comes at a time of worldwide uncertainty, priorities are for the safety and health of all – not putting ourselves, friends and loved ones at risk.
We take the safety and health of all riders, and their communities very seriously. We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by the public health officials.
Saturday 22 August 2020 – New “JUST RIDE!” Day Date
IFRD is far too important an action for women in motorcycling to not have occur in 2020. Therefore, by rescheduling to Saturday, 22 August, 2020 – worldwide – will still see the globally synchronized “JUST RIDE!” day action take place. Naturally, this is with all optimism and with expectations that by August this year, we will have COVID-19 controlled, contained and behind us.
We recognise the impact of this decision on event organizers the world over and appreciate your support as we focus on the well-being of all and the communities we ride amidst.
Saturday 2 May IFRD Tribute
Discussions are in place now for a safe action – perhaps a photo sharing action- on 2 May for those who wish to acknowledge the traditional IFRD date.Details posted here shortly.
Let’s keep the IFRD engine fired up alongside our hope and faith to a quick end to this pandemic.
