Saturday, 2 May marks the 20th edition of International Female Ride Day® —and wherever you are in the world, your ride counts. Whether you’re riding solo or joining a group, IFRD is about showing up, being visible, and enjoying the ride safely.
Here’s your simple day-of checklist to help you feel ready, confident, and fully part of the global IFRD “Just Ride!” experience.
Six Steps To Ride Safe and Confident
1. Start With a Clear Ride Plan
Before you even put your helmet on, know your ride.
- Choose your route (familiar roads are best).
- Check weather and timing.
- Set a meeting point and destination if riding with others.
- Share your plan with someone (especially if riding solo).
Simple is smart. IFRD is about participation—not complexity.
2. Do a Quick Motorcycle Check
A fast pre-ride check goes a long way.
- Tires (pressure and condition).
- Brakes (feel and response).
- Lights and signals.
- Fuel level (start with a full tank if possible).
This is about confidence on the road — no surprises.
3. Gear Up Properly
Ride like you always should — prepared and protected.
- Helmet (properly secured).
- Jacket, gloves, riding pants, boots.
- Dress for the weather and temperature changes.
IFRD is about showing up — but doing it responsibly and professionally as riders.
4. Ride Your Ride (Solo or Group)
However you choose to ride, stay true to your comfort level.
If riding solo:
- Enjoy the independence.
- Stay aware and visible.
- Stop when you want — this is your moment.
If riding in a group:
- Agree on pace and formation.
- Keep safe distances.
- Avoid pressure — no one should feel pushed.
There’s no “right way” to IFRD — only your way.
5. Be Visible — Represent IFRD
This is what makes IFRD powerful.
- Ride with intention and awareness,
- Acknowledge other riders — safely and when appropriate.
- Capture a moment (photo/selfie/group shot) and upload later to the 2026 IFRD Photo Gallery!
You are part of a global movement across 120 countries — your presence contributes to the visibility of women riders everywhere.
6. Enjoy the Moment — Then Share It
This is the day it all comes together.
- Take a break, connect, reflect.
- Share your ride photos and stories.
- Tag and use your usual IFRD hashtags.
And yes — the official IFRD windscreen flyer will be available shortly, so be sure to add it to your bike and be part of the worldwide visual statement.
Final Thought: Just Ride!
For 20 years, International Female Ride Day has been built on one simple idea:
No waiting. No permission. Just showing up.
This Saturday, 2 May — whether you ride five minutes or five hours— you are part of something global, powerful, and undeniable. Just Ride!
