IFRD Winners 2019 PHOTO CONTEST
Congratulations To All!
Women riders the world over continue to demonstrate their involvement and support for International Female Ride Day and the 13th edition was nothing less than magnificent! I am so thrilled with the capture of motorcycling moments for this special happening, IFRD. And, here they are, the 2019 IFRD photo contest winners! It is always difficult to select the winners, as every photo is a fabulous capture of what IFRD is all about – women enjoying motorcycling! As I always say, each is a winner!
Three Winners
But there had to be three winners — and here they are:
IFRD Selfie Winner
“Mother and Daughter Ride for IFRD” by Lee H. (Texas, USA) is a beautiful capture of the bond that motorcycling can create. Congratulations, Lee!
IFRD Photo Winner (Up to Seven Women)
I couldn’t resist choosing Jacolene van der Merwe (Gauteng, South Africa) for “Releasing the Balloons on IFRD!” The vibrant colours radiate pure joy and celebration. Congratulations, Jacolene!
IFRD Group Winner
Our IFRD Group Winner is Kat H. (Dubai, UAE) with a fantastic group shot set against the Dubai desert—a fun, spirited moment featuring fellow women riders from the UAE. Congratulations, Kat!
Metal works artist Joyce Morgan (Joy’s Metalworks) has nearly completed the three very special award plaques which will be sent to each winner!
What began 13 years ago as a simple request to share how women were showing up to Just Ride has grown into one of the most loved parts of International Female Ride Day. While not everyone enters the photo contest, the #internationalfemalerideday hashtag across social platforms showcased countless unforgettable moments from May 4 — all around the world.
Our contest winners will have their images permanently featured in the IFRD Fame Gallery, to be enjoyed for years to come.
Since 2007, International Female Ride Day has encouraged, represented, and helped shape women’s participation in motorcycling—bringing the joy of riding closer to more women, everywhere. With riders now participating in more than 120 countries, IFRD continues to help drive the growth of women riders worldwide.
A heartfelt thank you to every woman who entered the contest—and to everyone who shared the truly great, memorable, and remarkable moments of the 13th edition of International Female Ride Day.
See you on 2 May, 2020 – JUST RIDE!
